colored pencils aren't just for kids

 I had never used colored pencil before this summer. I had used it for coloring way back in the days of coloring books, but I'd never considered it as a serious way to make art.

I started noticing the work colored pencil-purists were posting online. Some of these people are absolutely incredible! Their work is so life-like. I was inspired to see if I could try it out...

I learned that the key to colored penciling is depth. Making your colors as dark and as light as you possibly can. That's all that is to it! Also keep your pencils as sharp as possible... Don't ever start a piece without a decent sharpener. I sharpened my pencils literally every minute of continuous use.
